My time in Nepal with Yana was mind-expanding and magical. Nepal’s soulful, ancient culture taught me a lot about myself. It enriched me. That’s because Yana is a wise woman who knows where to go to see places, people and events that celebrate the divine feminine. As a result, I left Kathmandu feeling empowered and renewed.
Thank you for introducing me to the beauty and wonder of Nepal and for heightening my awareness of my goddess self.

This tour to Kathmandu Valley, Nepal offered by Yana Castle, PhD, focuses on the iconography, ritualistic and meditative practices and worship of dakinis (skydancers) and major female deities of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition:
Tara, Vajrayogini, Vajravarahi, Prajnaparamita, Chinnamunda, Simhamukha (lion-headed dakini), Kurukulla, Yeshe Tsogyal (Queen of the dakinis), Treasure revealer Sera Khandro.

WHAT IS A DAKINI (skydancer)? In Sanskrit 'dakini' means a powerful female who flies through the sky. In Tibetan the term dakini is translated, 'she who flies everywhere in the limitless realm of space.' In iconography she is often depicted as dancing. Hence, she is called 'skydancer.' For more information on dakinis, see Dakini As Art website.
